This means that you can set up a Hotkey or something to switch a different set of buttons into your Menu for a different purpose (maybe you need different behavior if you’re mounted than when you’re not mounted, or if you’re out of combat you need different utilities than in combat, etc), and the new set of buttons might look completely different, with different pictures and all… but it will be on the same Menu with the same Hotkeys. Menu Buttons are not built right into the menu they are completely dynamic and can be replaced either all at once or individually. Clicking on one of the buttons is the same as pressing one of its Hotkeys, and Menus can also provide visual feedback when you move your mouse over or click the buttons (or press the Hotkeys). This is just a simple example, designed to fit in with World of Warcraft Action Bars, but menus are an incredibly powerful and dynamic new system for ISBoxer. What’s a Menu? It’s basically the same thing you might call an “Action Bar” or “Hotbutton Bar” or “Quickslot Bar” or something along those lines (I’ll just say Action Bar if that’s okay) in a typical MMORPG. Hooray! You’ll also notice this new “Menus” tab… If you’ve used ISBoxer before, chances are you’ve seen the in-game ISBoxer Control Panel, and that the one in the screenshot above looks much better than the one you’re familiar with. I’ve been working hard on this major update to ISBoxer 41 since January and it’s almost ready. ISBoxer 41! New skin! Menus! New Quick Setup Wizard! Buzzwords! It is now possible to distribute a folder of images for quick and painless installation into ISBoxer! Now to get people to share some creative Menu designs… I also recently introduced a new Image Set feature to ISBoxer, to make it easier to share custom Menus and Click Bars.

So I was quite happy to introduce a new system that works for more than one game thanks Cryptic! And yes, I made a video showing how to use ISBoxer’s Cryptic Studios Macro Library. Last month I also developed a new Game Helper for Cryptic Studios games (Star Trek Online, Neverwinter and Champions Online) to easily manage Key Bindings and macros for these games, similar to using the ISBoxer Addon for World of Warcraft! These are the only games other than World of Warcraft for which this feature is available - other games for the most part don’t provide the feature set to easily create a custom macro and bind it to a key in the game. ISBoxer 41’s Quick Setup Wizard does a great job of producing a basic, working configuration for any of ISBoxer’s supported games from Action RPGs to standard MMORPGs, and non-standard MMOs like EVE Online. So today, many ISBoxer users are now automatically using the 64-bit World of Warcraft client instead of the 32-bit client, and probably most of them have no idea. And that’s awesome, because it will save countless time (and money) on providing tech support for people having such issues. As a result, even 32-bit games now run more reliably than before - for example, people who were completely unable to launch their game because of incompatibility with other software, in most cases will no longer have this issue. During that overhaul, many stability issues were also identified and resolved, partly because of the conversion process.
